Apk install how to copy numbered versioned .so file

I am using Android NDK to compile library for Android. Any help is greatly appreciated

I share the solution to the bug that led me to post this question. So, I stumbled on this android-5.1.1_r1 to android-6.0.0_r1 AOSP changelog which makes total sense

Note: The FAR may not always include the Java Script file.
For example, rename this file Barcode Scanner.
This folder is required and must contain a Java Script file. Once created, copy the plugin artifacts to the directories.
