In the SQL ORDER BY statement which type of sorting is done

My question is if there are sorting is used when we use SQL ORDER BY statement then which sorting is used (like quick or merge) And is it will be faster to sort linked list or array.

A column that uses arithmetic operation can be used in the ORDER BY clause. The ORDER BY clause can use column alias for sorting.
Read Prerequisites for this tutorial and practices if you haven't done so. To sort a query output from a particular SELECT statement, use ORDER BY clause.
