Working with Ipython, how can I use Hershey fonts in matplotlb or seaborn?

I've transitioned from IDL, Supermongo plotting packages to iPython's versatile options (Matplotlib and Seaborn)

I tweaked this answer a bit and came up with this fiddle
I am using https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FreeType gives you the option to only load the font icons you need
