Working on Osx, how to set Apache proxy to bypass some hosts domains

My problem:My local Apache project returns ERROR CODE: 504 when talking to local Java project. local java project is REST server, while Apache project is user interface.

The proxy server is, above all, a security device.
The proxy will accept the connection and then attempt to proxy it on.
Clients need not be aware of the existence of the proxy.

Python must have a more elegant solution to this
Also give a shot to http://www.apachetutor.org/admin/reverseproxies seems the prefect solution

There is a common pattern that solves this problem quite well
