Here is one very simple solution for this problem
This is called overloading Error inflating class android.support.v7.widget.CardView ...

There are utilities that will do this for you. Gem android.view.InflateException: Binary XML file line #2 ... fits to this perfectly, but it seems to me, that it's abandoned
