Using Javascript: why is EventSource throwing an error?

I am using ActionController::Live and EventSource to stream records at client.

What if Acme Weather has a weather data feed hosted at weather

Fire a simple event named error at the EventSource object.
Create a new EventSource object.
The Java Script runs, and the EventSource object is created.
