How do I stop my slideshow from affecting other elements on the page

I am trying this library for the first time and have no clue for solving this. My slideshow div is paced above my header nav in HTML to create fullscreen slideshow but all elements on my page are fading with my slideshow, how do I prevent that.

In the page have a text box and button. The page is loaded OK.
This is all controlled via a link element at the top of the page.
